We are looking for a Linux Specialist to join our team on a full time basis as a Customer Service Representative in our Plovdiv office in Bulgaria.
Knowledge of the Linux operating system is essential. Your role will predomenently involve assisting our international client-base with diagnosing web hosting related issues, and helping keep our fleet of servers in tip top shape. The role offers lots of flexibility for candiates with other specialisations, provided this is in addition to a knowledge of Linux System Administration.

You must have excellent written and spoken English, and strong knowledge of Linux / cPanel web hosting environments.
Job Duties
- Provide prompt and competent support to our customers primarily via our ticketing system, live chat and by phone.
- Assist customers with troubleshooting web site issues and providing best practises for maintaining their web sites.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot server problems.
- Be an on-call point of contact for occasional escalated issues as required
- Investigate and respond to abuse reports (spam/phishing).
- Document solutions in our internal staff knowledgebase.
- Document solutions in customer facing knowledgebase.
- Work to engineer new solutions and services alongside general ticket flow and issue resolution.
- Ad-hoc work as required (system automation, account migrations, server setups, other project work etc.)

What are our general requirements?
- At least 1 year experience with Linux O/S, either in a system administrator capacity
- Excellent communication skills. We expect that you speak and write fluent English, and explain things simply and concicely.
- An understanding of what makes FANTASTIC customer service.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle several tasks or projects simultaneously, and also complete them on time
- You need to be able to think and learn intuitively, with a great attention to detail.
- You need to be able to work independently and proactively.
- You must be able to follow instruction carefully
- You must work well within a team, and contribute to overall team training and knowledge as you work on projects and resolve issues
- You must posess a desire to always 'get the job done'.
- You must have a love for the Internet and wider hosting industry – we want people with a passion for what they do and a desire to continually expand their knowledge as they work, and by actively researching and experimenting with new technologies/solutions.
- You must be prepared to work flexible working hours, with occasional weekend work required. We operate a rotating shift pattern to allow our team to rotate through weekends off.
Technical Abilities & Skills
- Knowledge of cPanel/WHM and common troubleshooting of cPanel/WHM servers to resolve day to day issues
- Understanding of Apache, BIND, MySQL, PHP, Exim, Courier, Dovecot
- Understanding of CentOS and CloudLinux OS.
- Experience with managing Linux RPMs and resolving conflicts that might occur
- Experience with wide range of web hosting topics
- Understanding of sales, ability to use experience to recommend upgrades and new services
Additional Preferred Abilities & Skills
We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates with specific skill sets. If you don't have these skills don't let this put you off, however!
- Previous experience in customer service.
- Knowledge of open source applications, such as WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, Prestashop, OpenCart and so on.
- Experience with OnApp
- Experience with LiteSpeed Web Server
- Experience configuring networking equipment
- Windows Server based hosting environments
- Experience configuring and working with clustered and redundant hosting environments (Linux)
- HTML/CSS/PHP coding
- Experience with Varnish proxies/caches
- Experience with Nginx
- Experience with Memcache/Redis
- Experience developing/maintaining/packaging custom Linux Kernels
- RPM packaging, and maintenance/updates of RPM repositories (yum, apt etc)
- Ability to configure and proactively maintain servers with no control panel
- Knowledge of shell scripting and advanced shell commands/utilities
- Experience in marketing / graphic design / SEO.
